The US Embassy on Monday refuted reports of the Nato helicopters crossing into Pakistani airspace near Torkham. "There were reports that Nato helicopters crossed into Pakistani airspace near Torkham on Monday". "This is not the case. US Embassy officials confirmed with Nato commanders in Kabul that no Nato helicopters crossed the border into Pakistan," a press statement issued by the US Embassy here on Monday said.
"Furthermore, all Coalition and US air operations in Afghanistan conducted along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border region are closely co-ordinated with Pakistan's Air Force". "We refer all questions concerning the integrity of Pakistani airspace to the Pakistan Air Force", the statement added.
