Regional Chairman and Vice President, Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Mian Muhammad Adrees has said the government has failed in resolving the issues of the business community and nobody has trust in government policies thus the business community should be more active to resolve economic issues.
While addressing the business community of Punjab at a seminar on "National Economic Issues and Solutions thereto" here on Monday, he said that attaining self reliance could help in bringing economic stability in the country. Therefore, natural and mineral resources must be exploited for the growth of economy, which is an open secret for the prosperity of Pakistan.
He said the government's pessimistic approach was the main reason of current economic problems and crisis. As a result, industry was at risk and unemployment and inflation rate was increasing. He said that business community was main stakeholder but they were never taken in confidence while decision or policy making. That's why the business was going downward. He also congratulated the FPCCI newly elected office bearers.
Vice President SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Iftikhar Ali Malik said that business community must be taken in confidence during policy making so that the community's problems could be resolved. He said Agriculture Income Tax should be imposed to increase the revenues. He suggested that ten-year plan may be prepared to overcome the crisis of energy. New dams and power stations must be built.
