Xmas celebrated amid tight security in Quetta

Like other parts of the world the Christian community of Quetta celebrated Christmas on Saturday with religious fervour amidst tight security. Special prayers were offered for the stability and prosperity of the country in all churches of the provincial metropolis. The priests, in their sermons called for religious tolerance, fraternity and brotherhood.
They urged people from all walks of life to play their due role in the development of the country. The stringent security measures were put on place to ensure peaceful conduct of the event. On the occasion, the people belonging to Christian community also exchanged gifts and greetings. They also decorated Christmas trees in their houses. Reports reaching here from other parts of the province including Chaman, Sibi, and Dera Murad Jamali observed celebrations of Christmas with the same zeal and enthusiasm.
