At least 24 militants and 11 soldiers were killed in a clash between the security forces and militants in Mohmand Agency. The gun battle ensued after the attack of the militants on a check post in the tribal region. Mohammad Agency political administrator Amjad Ali Khan confirmed to media the martyrdom of 11 and injuries of seven militia force personnel when militants stormed five check posts at small intervals in Baidnami village near the Pak-Afghan border.
The attacks were repulsed by the security forces with 24 militants killed in a fierce gun-battle, he added. The militants, he said, fled, leaving behind the dead bodies of their companions. He said that seven bodies of militants were in custody of security forces. Baidnami areas have been cordoned off and search operation has been started.
Meanwhile, two children along with their teacher sustained minor injuries in a bomb explosion here in Palosi Forest Bazaar, Peshawar. According to police, a remote control bomb, planted in the school here in Palosi, went off, wounding two children, and two classrooms were damaged. The security personnel rushed to the site and cordon off the site to carry out search operation in the nearby areas.
