Pak-Turkish joint security seminar concludes

As part of the mutual co-operation programme, both Pakistan and Turkey hold joint security seminars twice a year, alternatively at National Defence University Islamabad and Turkish War Colleges Command, Istanbul. The first seminar of the series was held in Turkey in June this year, while the second two-day seminar, hosted by National Defence University, concluded here the other day.
The aim of this seminar was to broaden understanding of the armed forces of the two brotherly countries while focusing primarily on the fast changing global and regional environment and implications/responses for both Pakistan and Turkey. There were two themes for the discussion "Impact of Afghanistan Situation on Regional and Global Security" and "Energy Security". The perception and views of participants from both the countries on current security environment in Afghanistan, and its regional and global implications were discussed.
On the occasion, eminent speakers from both sides presented papers on the sub themes, followed by discussion by the participants. A four-member Turkish delegation participated in the conference, while Director General Institute for Strategic Studies; Research and Analysis Major General, Azhar Ali Shah concluded the session.-PR
