Chairman, Taxation Sub-Committee of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Anis Majeed has sought support and incentive from government for export sector including five zero rates sector which generate 60 parent employment in the country.
Speaking at first meeting of the sub-committee of year 2010-11, he said instead of taking steps and making legislations like RGST which would not only add up to the cost of doing business but would also make life unhappy for the common men..
He said that in the present economic chaos particularly when the tax rates are extremely high and cost of doing business is increasing frequently, burdening the business community with additional taxes will only add up the problem and eventually result in loss of revenue to the national exchequer. Anis Majeed was of the view that in the present circumstances government cannot make it out from the fiscal disorder without taking onboard all associations of Karachi, as Karachi is the industrial hub of the country and Karachi chamber is the largest chamber of the nation.
He noted that the chamber has made all efforts and proposals to rectify tax anomalies and reduce the tax burden from business community at all forums including the National Assembly. Chairman Taxation Sub-Committee invited proposals and suggestions from the diverse audience present during meeting.
