Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has constituted a 10-member high powered committee headed by Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa for formulating new anti-corruption rules, reviewing existing legal framework and reorganising administrative structure of anti-corruption department.
The committee will submit its report to the Chief Minister within a week, disclosed an official here on Thursday. The Chief Minister directed the committee to review the existing legal framework of anti-corruption and point out flaws and shortcomings. The committee besides drafting new laws for anti-corruption will also formulate proposals for the constitution of its new administrative structure. It will also point out the changes required in the existing set-up.
The meeting of the committee will be held on December 24 and it has been directed to submit its final recommendations to the Chief Minister within seven days. The members of the committee include Punjab Finance Minister Tanvir Ashraf Kaira, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan, Punjab Labour Minister Muhammad Ashraf Khan Sohna, Punjab Food Minister Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor Khan, Member National Assembly Mrs Anousha Rehman Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Punjab, Secretary Law, Advocate General Punjab and Director General Anti-Corruption Punjab.
