Masses' problems: MQM, PML-F to map out joint strategy

Published Updated

A joint strategy would be mapped out with the help of political parties in a few weeks to curb problems facing the masses of the country. This was decided in a meeting of MQM team with Pakistan Muslim League Functional (PML-F) Chief, Pir Sahib Pagaro at Kingri House here on Tuesday.
Talking to media after the meeting, Babar Ghauri, who led the four-man MQM team, said MQM is interacting with all political parties for resolution of the problems and issues facing the people of the country. It is an attempt to initiate joint efforts against inflation, unemployment and maintain peace with the help of all political parties and "we are not here for hatching conspiracies," he added.
Babar vowed to foil any attempt to trigger ethnic riots and called for united efforts to provide relief to masses. Combined efforts would frustrate the designs of miscreant elements attempting to trigger ethnic riots in Sindh as we are against every such scheme which leads towards the division of the province, he said.
He said that on RGST and Commissionerate System one-sided decisions are not acceptable to MQM as it would be a threat to democracy and would also increase problems of the masses. Babar said MQM and PML-F agreed to work together in future for providing relief to people. We have brought the message of peace, he added.
Provincial Minister Imtiaz Sheikh (PML-F) talking to media said that we have presented the suggestion of Commissionerate System. He said that we have worked together with MQM in past and would continue it in future as well. Co-ordination among political parties is positive sign and in accordance with democracy, he added. The MQM delegation also discussed the prevailing political situation with Pir Sahib Pagaro. MQM team comprised Member Co-ordination Committee, Wasay Jalil, Parliamentary Leader in Sindh Assembly, Syed Sardar Ahmed and Provincial Minister Adil Siddiqui.
