Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 297,568 tonnes of cargo including 237,416 tonnes of import cargo, 60,152 tonnes of export cargo, 6,411 loaded and empty containers during last 48 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 237,416 tonnes comprised of 104,307 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,699 tonnes of general cargo; 64,446 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,141 tonnes of sugar; 59,605 tonnes of coal; 2,700 canola and 65,964 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 60,152 tonnes comprised of 42,674 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,177 tonnes of general cargo; 15,301 tonnes of bulk cargo: 11,150 tonnes of cement and 4,151 tonnes of rice. Ten ships namely TS Tokyo, OOCL Dalian, HS Challanger, Kota Halus, Kota Anggerik, Alliance St. Louis, Hercules Highway, CE Shilla, Je Lin and Beluga Fiction sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Fourteen vessels viz Sea Lavender, Hercules Highway, Cathrina, APL Guangzhou, HS Challanger, OOCL Dalian, MOL Success, Kota Halus, Kota Anggerik, CSL Ride, Hyundai Tacoma, Bunga Raya Satu, Le Jin and MT Lahore are currently at the berth. Three ships namely APL Guangzhou, Bunga Raya Satu and MOL Success expected to sail on Monday, while four ships namely MT Lahore, Al-Shuwaikh, CSL Ride and Hyundai Tacoma are expected to sail on Tuesday. Five vessels viz Lodestar Genesis, Pertiwi, Sima Sahba, Easy Prosperity and Al-Shuwaikh due to arrive on Monday, while four vessels viz Concord, President Truman, Lietta and Li Bai are due to arrive on Tuesday.

The total export cargo includes 8,244 tonnes of containerised cargo. Three ships namely CV Maersk Carolina, CV Centaurs and MT Anette Kosan sailed out to sea on Monday morning. A total number of six vessels viz CV Maersk Carolina, CV Centaurs, MT Multan, Thor Spirit and MT Anette Kosan are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, project cargo, chemicals and palm oil respectively.
Two ships namely Lanka Mahapola and Al-Jaber carrying rice and sugar are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of two vessels viz namely MV BBC Maine and MV Al-Jaber carrying project cargo and sugar are expected to take berths at Multi Purpose Terminal (MW-3) & (MW-4) respectively on Monday. Four container ships namely CV Asir, CV Nedlloyd Budson, CV MSC Jade and CV UASC Doha due to arrive on Tuesday, while two more container ships CV CMA CGM Onyx and CV Ikaruga are due to arrive on Wednesday.
