Two Bangladeshi road workers kidnapped in Afghanistan three days ago have been freed, saying that five others in captivity are in good health, officials said Monday. One Bangladeshi engineer was killed and seven workers taken hostage on Friday when gunmen stormed a remote road-building camp run by a South Korean construction firm between the northern Afghan provinces of Balkh and Samangan.
"Dhaka has communicated with the (two) released Bangladeshi workers and has been informed that the five Bangladeshi hostages were in good health and now located in Mazar-i-Sharif," Bangladesh's foreign ministry said.
