Tarbela dam power generation reduces to 1111 MW

TARBELA: Six power generation plants of Tarbela dam on Wednesday closed owing to decreased water inflow in the lake bringing down the power generation to 1111 megawatts.

According to the dam officials, owing to the winter season water inflow reduced to 21800 cusec feet which also affect the power generation capacity of the dam, adding that six power generation units have been shut down and eight are working in low capacity. Total power generation capacity of the dam is 3478 megawatts.

On Wednesday the water inflow in the dam was recorded at 21800 cusecs and outflow was 38000 cusecs feet.

The water level of the Tarbela dam lake was reduced to 1458.09 cusecs feet. During the coming few weeks more water inflow would be decreased.
