European stock markets sit tight at open

LONDON: The London and Frankfurt stock markets edged higher at the start of trading on Friday, while Paris steadied.

LONDON: The London and Frankfurt stock markets edged higher at the start of trading on Friday, while Paris steadied.

London's benchmark FTSE 100 index gained 0.1 percent to 7,493.81 points compared with Thursday's close.

In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index climbed 0.2 percent to 13,206.35 points and the Paris CAC 40 was virtually flat at 5,405.55.
