Shopkeepers asked to display rate list on prominent place in Rawalpindi

The decision was taken at a high level meeting chaired by District Coordination Officer (DCO) Rawalpindi, Imdadullah Bosal held here at DCO Office.

The meeting also directed the Price Control Committees (PCCs) to ensure implementation on the the prices of daily use items fixed by the District Price Control Committee.

It was also decided to take stern action against those shopkeepers who were involved in charging high rates, artificial price hike and hoardings.

Executive District Officer (EDO) Finance Rawalpindi Saqib Manan, Secretary District Price Control Committee and District Officer Enterprises Saeed Toor, EDO Agriculture Hameedullah Shah, District Officer Revenue Talat Mehmood Gondal, Assistant Food Controller Rawalpindi, President Markzi Anjuman-e-Tajran Rawalpindi Sheikh Siddique, office bearers of various traders associations of bazaars and markets including Ch.Muhammad Iqbal, Muhammad Salheen, Haji Abdul Hameed, Tahir Taj Bhatti, office bearers of Milk Association, representative officers of Utility Stores Corporation and other concerned departments attended the meeting.

The Secretary Price Control Committee and the D.O. Enterprises Saeed Toor briefed the meeting about prices and demand and supply situation of various commodities of daily use.

The meeting discussed prices of various food items and daily use commodities and finalized their prices in the light of the proposals of the participants of the meeting.

The EDO Finance said that the list of the rates of various food items and commodities of daily use should be displayed by the shopkeepers on prominent place outside their shops to facilitate the consumers and citizens.

Saqib Manan appealed the traders and shopkeepers to play role in providing relief to the citizens by extending cooperation to make successful the efforts of District Administration and Government in this respect.
