This was stated by the chairman of FPCCI Standing Committee on LPG and All Pakistan LPG Distributors Association (APLDA) Abdul Hadi Khan here Saturday. Saudi Aramco Contact Price for December 2011 was raised in the international market by $ 13 to $ 805 per ton on November 30, 2011.

He alleged that they have increased LPG prices due to lack of implementation of price mechanism by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resource and OGRA.

With this increase, domestic price of LPG will be increased by Rs 1.5 per kilo, 11.8 kilo cylinder by Rs 18 and 45.4 kg cylinder by Rs 68 in the country, he added.

Hadi noted that LPG sale will be restricted to 30 to 40 percent in the country further aggravating situation for the distributors and retailers. This will enhance pressure on CNG sector, he noted.

He urged the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources to take tough action for reducing LPG prices in the country to prevent wood cutting and save forests.
