Govt to implement SC decisions according to Constitution: Firdous

Addressing a book launching ceremony here, she said, "The courts are free in the country and their decisions are honoured and implemented in accordance with the Constitution."

The Minister said the institutions comply with the orders of the Supreme Court when they receive thses in writing.

She said the honour and dignity of the nation will not be compromised at any cost and the government will take important decisions by taking all stakeholders on board and after the consultations .

The Minister said time has proved that the democratic governments always fought for cause of nation very effectively at international forums. "The democratic government takes decisions as masses stand behind it", she added.

The elected government of Pakistan Peoples Party will not take dictation from any one and effectively safeguard the national interests, she said.

She criticized the previous government for taking dictation and compromising national interests for personal benefits.

Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said the government affectively handled the challenges presently being faced by the country.

About Saraiki province, she said the government is in the process of consultations with other political parties on the issue.

She said the government will honour sentiments of the people living in Saraiki area.

She said recent victory in by-election in Bahawalpur proved people living in the areas, have full confidence in the policies of government.

She said the government duly acknowledges the mandate of the people and will take decisions in their interest.

She stressed the need for unity among the Muslims to confront the challenges of thsi era.

The writer of the book Dr. Ghazanfar Mehdi highlighted different aspects of the book.
