LONDON: Europe's stock markets slid at the open on Friday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index down 0.3 percent at 7,272.78 points.

In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 lost 0.1 percent to 12,525.36 points and the CAC 40 in Paris also dipped about 0.1 percent to 5,220.89 points compared with the closing levels on Thursday.
