The Race franchise seems to be getting bigger and better. Excitement is on its peak after it has been officially announced that superstar Salman Khan will be replacing Saif Ali Khan in an upcoming sequel.

While Khan has always maintained that that he is not comfortable playing dark characters, he is now all set to make an exception with Race 3. Producer Ramesh Taurani made the announcement last week that Salman Khan will be playing the lead in the movie and has also revealed some exclusive details about his character.

Taurani said, “Yes Salman’s character is completely grey in Race 3 and it’s an extremely slick, stylish and exciting one – something he has not done before. The Race franchise always has grey characters in them – we are just continuing with that. Like Saif (Ali Khan) in Race or Race 2,” Indian media reported. He also confirmed that Jacqueline Fernandez will play the lead opposite ‘Dabbang’ Khan.

At the trailer launch of an upcoming slice-of-life film ‘Chef’, Saif Ali Khan also shared that he hasn’t been approached for Race 3 and he believes no one is better than Salman Khan to lead the third installment.

Abbas-Mustan directed the first two films in the Race franchise and Remo D’ Souza will now helm the third movie.
