Shipping activity at Port Qasim

Meanwhile six more ships scheduled to load/offload containers, cement, chemicals and furnace oil also arrive at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was observed the port at 54 percent on Wednesday as against the 46 percent on previous day where a total of eight ships namely C.V Ikaruga, C.V CMA CGM Verdi, C.V Al-Exander, M.V Fonthida Naree M.V Ikan Tambak, M.T Iron Kalypso, M.T Al-Soor-II and M.T Angel No.11 were occupied at PQA berths to load/offload containers, rice, canola seeds, sunflower seeds, palm oil and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo handling operation were carried out efficiently at the Port where a cargo volume of 0.109 million tonnes, comprises 0.085 million tonnes imports and 0.024 million tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 2,484 containers (TEUs) was handled during last 24 hours.

A total of six ship C.V Ikaruga, C.V CMA CGM Verdi, C.V Al-Exander M.T Al-Soor-II, M.T Angel No.II and M.V Safina-2 sailed out to sea during last 24 hours.

Six ships C.V Pisti, C.V Nicolai Maersk, C.V New Delhi Express, M.T Chembulk Singapore, M.T Fair Spirit and M.T Sunrise Hamanasu carrying containers, palm oil, furnace oil and chemicals are expected to take berths at QICT, LCT, FOTCO and EVTL respectively on Thursday, November 24.

Bulk cargo carrier M.V Zeynepk is due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day, while two more ships C.V MSC Jade and M.T Stolt Zulu with Containers and palm oil are due to arrive on Friday, November 25.
