Shipping activity at Port Qasim

Meanwhile four more ships carrying containers, diesel oil and furnace oil also arrive at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy remained at the Port at 46 percent on Tuesday where a total of seven ships namely C.V Sea Land Washington, C.V Al-Exander, M.V Safina-2, M.V Fonthida Naree, M.V Ikan Tambak, M.T Iron Kalypso and M.T Angel No.II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, canola seeds, sunflower seeds, palm oil and chemicals respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 53,143 tonnes, comprises 24,018 tonnes imports and 29,125 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 2,387 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.

C.V Sea Land Washington sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while four more ships C.V Al-Exander, M.V Safina-2, M.T Angel No.II and C.V Ikaruga are expected to sail on same day afternoon.

Four ships, C.V Ikaruga C.V CMA CGM Verdi. M.T Chem Bulk Singapore and M.T Al-Soor-II carrying containers, 18,000 tonnes palm oil and 52,434 tonnes diesel oil are expected to take berth at QICT, LCT and FOTCO on Wednesday, November 23, while four more ships C.V Nicolai Maersk, C.V Pisti, C.V New Delhi Express and M.V Zeynepk with containers and canola seeds are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Thursday, November 24.
