PMEX index closes at 2,968 points

KARACHI: Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited's commodity index on Tuesday closed at 2,968 points.

The total traded value of metals, energy and COTS/FX was recorded at Rs 4.050 billion and the number of lots traded was 14,551, said press release here on Wednesday.

Major business was contributed by gold amounting to Rs 1.615 billion, followed by WTI crude oil Rs 1.240 billion, currencies through COTS Rs 872.550 million, platinum Rs 193.798 million, silver Rs 103.665 million, Brent crude oil Rs 10.845 million, copper Rs 2.201 million and natural gas Rs 5.662 million.
