Jayawardene reaches 10,000 one-day runs

DUBAI: Experienced Sri Lankan batsman Mahela Jayawardene completed his 10,000 one-day runs during the third day-night in
18 Nov, 2011

The 34-year-old became the ninth batsman in all one-day internationals and second Sri Lankan behind former team-mate Sanath Jayasuriya to achieve the honour when he reached 13 during his knock of 17.

Indian maestro Sachin Tendulkar leads the table with 18,111 runs in 453 matches.

Two other Indians, Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid, Australian Ricky Ponting, South African Jacques Kallis, Pakistan's Inzamam-ul Haq and West Indian Brian Lara are others to have scored 10,000 or more runs in one-day internationals.
