Shipping activity at Port Qasim

Meanwhile two more ships scheduled to load/offload containers and rice also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was recorded at the Port Qasim at eighty five percent on Thursday as against the fifty four percent on previous day where a total of eleven ships namely C.V Pisti, C.V CMA CGM Puget, C.V Nicoline Maersk, M.V Abdul Aziz Arab, M.V Alexi-I, M.V Safina-2, M.T Patriotic, M.V Baltic Winter, M.V Iron Kalypso, M.T Grace and M.T Karachi are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, sunflower seeds, project cargo, chemicals, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo handling operation were carried out efficiently at the Port Qasim where a cargo volume of 100,992 tonnes, comprising 63,443 tonnes imports and 37,549 tonees exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 3,895 containers (TEUs) was handled during last 24 hours.

Five ship C.V Pisti, C.V CMA CGM Puget, C.V Nicoline Maersk M.T Patriotic and M.T Karachi sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while four more ship M.V Abdul Aziz Arab, M.V Alexi-I, M.V Baltic Winter and M.T Grace are expected to sail on same day afternoon.

Two ships M.T Al-Khalidia and M.V Ikan Tambk carrying furnace oil and canolo seed are expected to take berths FOTCO and MW respectively on Friday November 18, while two more ships C.V MSC Anafi and M.V Fanthida Naree are due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day.
