Shipping activity at Port Qasim

Meanwhile two more ships carrying containers and canola seeds also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was maintained at 62 percent at the Port on Tuesday, where eight ships namely C.V Maersk Kalamata, C.V Deira, M.V Abdul Aziz Arab, M.V Alexi-I, M.V Safina-2, M.T Golden Ambrosia, M.T Bunga Alamanda and M.T Fair Spirit are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, chemicals, Palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo handling operation were carried out smoothly at the Port where a cargo volume of 78,805 tonnes, comprising 56,378 tonnes imports and 22,427 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in, 1,865 containers (TEUs) was handled during last 24 hours.

Four ships C.V Maersk, Kalamata, C.V Diera, M.T Golden Ambrosia and M.T Fair Spirit sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while another ship M.T Bunga Alamanda is expected to sail on same day afternoon.

Four ships C.V OOCL Sanfrancisco, M.T Karachi, M.T Iron Kalypso and M.V Grace carrying containers, furnace oil, sunflower seeds and Palm oil are expected to take berths at QICT, FOTCO, FAP and LCT respectively on Wednesday, November 16, while three more ships C.V Nicoline Maersk, C.V Pisti and C.V CMA CGM Puget are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Thursday, November 17.
