543rd Guru Nanak birthday celebration concluded

The concluded ceremony was attending by hundreds of Sikh yatrees including 2600 from India who recited their sacred book Guru and perform other rituals on the occasion. Deputy Secretary Shrines Faraz Abbas supervised the celebrations.

The sikh yatrees while talking to newsmen after the celebrations expressed full satisfaction over the arrangements at Gurdawara and said they had enjoyed complete religious freedom and a secured environment, for which, they were thankful to the government.

"Our Gurdawaras are renovated excellently for which we are thankful to the government of Pakistan and specially Chairman Evacuee Trust Board Syed Asif Hashmi," they remarked.

The yatrees further said the people of Pakistan were very loving and caring and they (yatrees) experienced a home-like atmosphere here which was beyond their expectations.

It was pertinent to mention that foolproof security arrangement were made on the occasion with more than 1000 police personnel deployed to provide security to the sikh yatrees.
