The ‘Quantico’ star said: “People want to put you in a box, when I started out, people at auditions would be like, and ‘Can you use your Indian accent?’ And I’m like, ‘I am speaking in my Indian accent. This is how we speak in modern India!” Similar problems were faced by another American actor Aziz Ansari who was asked to use the stereotypical Indian accent just because the “Master of None” star has an Indian background.
