Vietnam sells $281 mn worth of govt bonds

The Treasury had intended to raise 6 trillion dong from two-year, five-year and 10-year bonds with 2 trillion for each maturity, and another 1 trillion dong from three-year debt.

It managed to sell 2 trillion dong of two-year bonds at the ceiling rate of 11 percent set by the Finance Ministry and 1 trillion dong worth at 10.9 percent, the exchange said in a statement.

It also sold 1.85 trillion dong of five-year debt at a yield of 11.2 percent and 1.03 trillion dong of 10-year bonds at 11.5 percent, both ceiling rates, the statement said.

The government plans to sell bonds worth 45 trillion dong this year. Last year its target was 66 trillion dong.
