Talking to APP on Friday WFP Programme Spokesperson Ajmad Jamal said that WFP is planning to provide food to 2.5 million people in coming four months.

He said initial assessment in Sindh and Balochistan shows that as many as 5.8 million people have been affected during floods.

To a question he said WFP has provided life-saving food assistance to more than 2.0 million people in Sindh and Balochistan provinces.

To another question he said World Food Programme (WFP) is facing a critical shortfall of around US $109 million dollar for the floods operation in Sindh and Balochistan.

He said funds are needed for the flood victims on urgent basis. He added malnutrition is a severe issue in the flood affected areas and the coming winter will be further toll.
