Shipping activity at Port Qasim

Meanwhile two more ships carrying containers and project cargo also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was observed at the Port at 69% on Thursday as compared to 31% on previous day where ten ships namely C.V Nale Maersk, C.V Pisti, C.V APL Chille, M.V Alexi-I, M.V Safina-2, M.T Asthit Merchant, M.T Bunga Laurel, M.T Olympic Serenity, M.T Pitaloka and M.V Kiran Africa are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, bitumen, palm oil, furnace oil, chemicals and sunflower seeds respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo handling operation were carried out efficiently at the Port where a cargo volume of 116,115 tonnes, comprising 92,490 tonnes imports and 23,625 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 3,043 containers (TEUS) was handled during last 24 hours.

Three container ships Nele Maersk, Pisti and APL Chille sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while another chemicals carrier Pitaloka is expected to sail on same day.

Four ships C.V MSC Anafi, C.V Al-Mirqab, M.V STX Bright and M.T DL Voilet carrying containers, project cargo and chemicals are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Engro Terminal respectively on Friday, November 11.
