"Total money market mutual fund assets increased by $16.46 billion to $2.639 trillion for the week ended Wednesday, November 9, the Investment Company Institute reported today. Taxable government funds increased by $9.99 billion, taxable non-government funds increased by $7.53 billion, and tax-exempt funds decreased by $1.05 billion. Retail: Assets of retail money market funds decreased by $2.35 billion to $933.62 billion. Taxable government money market fund assets in the retail category decreased by $240 million to $196.11 billion, taxable non-government money market fund assets decreased by $1.72 billion to $544.27 billion, and tax-exempt fund assets decreased by $390 million to $193.24 billion. Institutional: Assets of institutional money market funds increased by $18.81 billion to $1.705 trillion. Among institutional funds, taxable government money market fund assets increased by $10.23 billion to $708.92 billion, taxable non-government money market fund assets increased by $9.25 billion to $902.60 billion, and tax-exempt fund assets decreased by $670 million to $93.75 billion.
