Tauqir Zia joins PPPP

Lieutenant General (Retd) Tauqir Zia former Chairman of Pakistan cricket Board announced to join Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian (PPPP) in the presence of Makhdoom Ameen Faheem party president and Chairman of the Alliance for Restoration of Democracy (ARD) in a press conference on Sunday.
Zia joined armed forces in decade of sixty and initially became part of prestigious armed corps. He belongs to a reputable Kashmiri family of Lahore. He has studied from Government College (Ravian) Lahore prior to joining of armed forces of the country. As a head of PCB, he established Cricket Academy, improved financial as well as infrastructure stature of the organisation tremendously.
Makhdoom Ameen Faheem (PPPP) President meanwhile addressing the press conference on the occasion made it unequivocally clear that his party was fully poised for forthcoming general elections. He said that if somebody sat in the house boycotting the election and there were long lines on the election day, then election boycott would be a futile exercise.
Speaking about possibility of who would form the next government, he said party that gets the maximum votes would form the government, he added. On seat arrangement by PPPP with other groups, Faheem dilated that this would be settled after consultation amongst the party.
Referring on any latest development between All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) and ARD on elections, he said that points have been settled regarding next elections between the two.
He said establishing of democracy was in the best interest of the country and this chance should not go wasted. On restoration of constitution in original form, he said after coming into power, it would be restored to pre-1999 status.
Secretary General PPPP Jhangir Badar who was present on the occasion showed optimism that PPPP would get two-third majority in the forthcoming general elections.
