SIALKOT: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan on Sunday has underlined the need of collective efforts for curtailing the problems especially at the marriages confronted by the poor segment of the society.

Addressing a ceremony of collective marriages held in collaboration with Shade and Bukhari Relief Foundation (BRF) at Dhalawali near Head Marala she said that it is a healthy sign that philanthropists and big business men of Sialkot have supported the ceremony of collective marriages.

Dr. Firdous Ashiq was of the opinion that such ceremonies would be helpful in mustering the support of the masses particularly the philanthropists and wealthy people.

The Information Minister lauded the role and cooperation of Bukhari Relief Foundation (BRF) for arranging the marriages of Muslim and non-Muslims 25 couples adding that BRF is playing its front-foot role in such ceremonies and reducing the miseries of poor segment of the society. PPP led government have concentrated weeding out the sense of deprivation from the society and many a step has already been taken in this regard, she said.
