13 Apr, 2017

The Chief Minister speaking on the floor of the house of Sindh Assembly said that Sindh province generated 70 percent of gas but claimed it was being deprived of the facility.

He said that the SSGC had been asked for the provision of gas for the testing of a power plant for the last four months but of not avail.

Murad said that if the demand is not met, the gas supply to rest of the country could be stopped which was supported by members of the assembly.

He asked the members of the assembly for their support to this effect and they thumbed their desks in approval.

He further said that a power plant was established at Nooriabad with a production capacity of 100mw and an accord was also signed with the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) to purchase it but later it denied saying that it had a surplus of electricity which the Chief Minister termed a blatant lie.

He said that the people of the Hyderabad were facing load shedding of long hours like rest areas of the province.
