LONDON: Europe's main stock markets dropped almost one percent in value at the open on Monday, mirroring a downbeat showing by Asia and the dollar.

London's benchmark FTSE 100 index shed 0.8 percent to 7,275.77 points compared with Friday's close.

In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 lost 0.9 percent to 11,957.65 points and the Paris CAC 40 declined 0.9 percent to 4,975.09.
