A project of restoration of Shrine of Hazrat Baba Bulleh Shah and additional facilities at the mausoleum complex will be completed by June 30 this year. A representative of the Punjab Auqaf department apprised the meeting of the construction committee presided over by Kasur Naib Nazim Maqsood Sabir Ansari here on Monday.
The meeting was informed that with Rs 15 million funds, sanctioned by Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, work for the construction of a library, ablution place, toilets, retiring rooms for outstation visitors and pavements in the adjoining graveyard would be started on February 15 to be completed by the end of the current fiscal year.
The meeting was informed that 80 percent work of renovation and construction, earlier initiated with Rs 15 million grant, given by former prime minister Zafarullah Kahn Jamali was complete. Kasur Naib Nazim Maqsood Sabir Ansari, in response to complaints about irregularities and un-impressive performance of the Auqaf department officials, assured the meeting that fresh inquiry would be held in the alleged misappropriation of money donated at the shrine.
He asserted that no ill-practice regarding the management of shrines would be tolerated. The naib nazim said that an inquiry was already under way into the use of sub-standard material for the boundary wall of the shrine.
