PML-N rally causes transport shortage in city

Published Updated

Long queues of people were seen at the bustops, especially at the Lahore railway station,Lahore General Bus Stand and other public areas of the city as public transport entry to areas skirting Nasir Bagh-Bhaati Chowk was not allowed after noon.

Almost all the vans of route 105, 106,107, 10, 61 and others disappeared as most were booked for the rally by PML-N leadership due to which passengers had to face immense problems.

Talking to APP on Friday, people from all the walks of life regretted the adverse situation in the city and said that political parties should show concern or some care for the people as well.

Many said that political leaders should hold major activities outside the city to prevent public misery.

Irfan, Tahir, Majid, Tariq and some others said that the practice of back to back rallies and processions had badly effected the economy of the country and this situation causes worst traffic problems in the highly crowded city. This also causes wastage of fuel and pollutes the already degrading city environment.

They demanded that the government should make "alternate arrangement" for the city public transport before allowing or iteself holding such hyped political activities in the city.
