Chairing a meeting to review law and order situation at Central Police Office on Friday, he urged the police officials to make optimum use of available resources for fool proof investigations to facilitate efficient pursuance of the cases in the court. This, he said, was crucial for deterrence of the criminals and prerequisite to control the crime rate. The meeting was attended by Additional I.G - CID (Karachi), Additional I.G - Special Branch, D.I.G - Headquarters (East Zone), D.I.G - Headquarters (West Zone), D.I.G - CIA, SSP of Anti Car Lifting Cell (ACLC), SSP of Anti Violent Crime Cell (ACVC), SSP Of Special Investigation Unit (SIU), SSPs of Karachi East, South, Central and other senior officials. The Chief of Sindh Police directed the SSP - ACLC to ensure that gangs of car lifters were busted so that the crime could be eradicated from its very roots. He also asked to submit proposals that could improve the performance of ACLC. The IGP Syed Mushtaq Shah directed the officials of CID and Special Branch to develop an efficient coordination and take concrete measures to improve performance of intelligence collection units functional at police stations in Karachi. He said the cops must be deployed at prominent positions so as to check law and order. Similarly, he said, random snap checking must also be intensified. The Police Chief urged the senior officials to formulate schedule for police patrolling in every area of the city.
