European stocks steady at open

LONDON: European stock markets were steady at the start of trading on Friday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index up 0.1 percent to 6,938.38 points.

In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 fell 0.1 percent to 11,170.18 points and the CAC 40 in Paris gained 0.1 percent to 4,741.10 compared with the close on Thursday.
