He has directed Executive Director, Local Taxes, Rehan Khan to remove all such illegal hoardings for which permission was granted without adhering to the bye-laws and layout and maps prepared at level of towns in this regard, said a statement. The DCO Karachi had received complaints that permission was granted for advertisement boards and hoardings at about 50 locations during the last month which were not in accordance with the bye-laws and the layouts prepared by towns for these advertisements. A committee was also constituted in this connection which had reported that 40 out of these 50 hoardings are illegal. The DCO Karachi had in the light of this report and recommendations directed to remove all such hoardings and cancel permits of 40 hoardings. The illegal hoardings are being removed by the Local Taxes Department, he added. Roshan Ali Shaikh has said that the respective bye-laws and layouts for hoardings will be implemented and any violation of rules would be dealt with strictly.
