Top oil firms pledge $1bn over 10 years in climate push

OSLO: Top oil companies including Saudi Aramco, Shell and Statoil will invest $1 billion over the next decade to develop and accelerate the commercial deployment of innovative low emissions technologies, Statoil said on Friday.

Reuters on Nov. 2 broke the news that the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative, as the group is called, would announce details of their plans on Friday.
