ABU DHABI/CAIRO: The lowest offer at Egypt state grain buyer GASC's wheat tender on Thursday was $177.94 a tonne for 60,000 tonnes of Russian wheat after cheaper US hard winter wheat was disqualified, traders said.

Egypt's state grain buyer GASC received offers from four suppliers in its international wheat purchase tender on Thursday, traders said.

Traders said cheaper US wheat offered for $173.98 per tonne was disqualified because it was hard wheat as opposed to the soft wheat stipulated in GASC's tender booklet.

The lowest qualifying wheat offer was from Louis Dreyfus. GASC is seeking an unspecified amount of wheat from global suppliers for shipment from Nov. 11 to 20.
