Sindh police recovers 6 hostages

KARACHI: Sindh police on Monday claimed to have recovered six hostages including an infant in separate raids at various parts of the metropolis.

According to police sources, a team of Anti Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) on tip-off conducted raid in interior Sindh and recovered five abducted persons namely Mohammad Hasham, Irfan Ghauri, Raheel Ahmed, Kashif Rasheed and Akram.

They said these persons were kidnapped from different localities of Karachi including Malir, New Karachi and Gulshan-e-Maymar at separate dates.

CIA chief DIG Iftikhar Tarar said that the kidnappers demanded huge ransom from the victims' families for their release but the police after doing hectic efforts recovered all of them safely.

Similarly, North Nazimabad police claimed to have recovered a four-month-old baby from house at Garden West. Police said the minor baby namely Sidra, a resident of Wahid Colony, Nazimabad, was kidnapped by her neighbour namely Arif and his wife Rabia.

They said the culprits brought Sidra to their in-laws in Garden where police raided and recovered her. However, the culprits managed to escape before police raid.
