Agencies concerned cognizant of need to implement SC verdict on Karachi: President

Spokesperson to the President Farhatullah Babar said a meeting was held in the Presidency to brief the President on the steps being taken to implement the Supreme Court's judgment in a suo moto case about the law and order situation in Karachi.

He said that the meeting was specially convened by the President to apprise himself of the steps that had so far been taken for the implementation of verdict.

The Sindh Chief Minister briefed the meeting on the steps taken by the provincial government for the implementation of verdict and the steps that would be further taken.

The meeting was attended among others by Governor of Sindh DrIshratul Ebad Khan and Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Attorney General Maulvi Anwarul Haq, former Law Minister Dr. Babar Awan, Law Minister Sindh Muhammad Ayaz Soomro, Home Minister Sindh Manzoor Hussain Wassan and Chief Secretary Sindh Raja Muhammad Abbas.

Farhatullah Babar said that the Supreme Court announced the 156-page verdict in the case on Thursday.
