Korean group keen to instal 100 MW solar plant near Karachi

KARACHI: A Korean group Hansol Technics Ltd, has shown interest to install a 100 Megawatt solar PV power plant near Karachi.

A statement of the organization said here on Friday that their local representative Ehsanullah Sheriff has submitted relevant papers to Secretary Energy, Government of Sindh.

It said that the application supporting documents consists of proforma duly filled in, Hansol Technics Profile, its financial report of 2013-14 to 2015-16 and letter of authorization of local representatives.

The statement said that the plant will be based on BOT (Built Operate and Transfer) basis. After the installation of the plant it will meet 100 MW power shortages of Karachi and its surroundings. It is expandable upto 250 MW. It is a new technique which provides uninterrupted energy by solar system.

It further pointed out that a team of Korean experts, comprising project incharge Woo Youl Park, Finance Incharge Hi Soo Kim and plant Incharge Seong Ho Park will visit Karachi in the last week of this month to discuss and finalize all relevant technical, financial and other issues for the installation of the plant.
