ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Railways will start reservation of tickets for the passengers of the special Eid trains from June 27, official sources said Friday.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan Railways has also announced a special package for the Holy Month of Ramazan by reducing fares up to 25 percent to facilitate the passengers.

The special package was applicable from the start of the holy month of Ramazan till 20th of Ramazan.

The decision has been taken on the directives of Minister for Railways and the facility will be available for the passengers in the form of advanced reservation of seats only.

This year, Pakistan Railways has also announced 10 special trains on Eid-ul-Fitr to facilitate people to celebrate Eid with their near and dear ones in hometowns.

The trains were likely to run from Quetta, Rawalpindi, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Peshawar, which would also enable the department to earn additional income.

The special train operation would start on July 3. Last year, Pakistan Railways had run some 23 Eid special trains to accommodate maximum number of passengers, who belonged to far-flung areas.

Pakistan Railways has taken several steps to facilitate the passengers as it is less expensive mode of transportation for the general public.
