HESCO forms special teams for correct meter reading

HYDERABAD: On the directives of Federal Secretary of Water and Power Muhammad Younus Dhaga, the Chief Executive Officer of Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HSECO) Akhtar Ali Randhawa has formed special teams of officers to achieve 100 percent correct meter reading of the power consumers.

According to directives, a photo of the used units of meters of consumers will be clicked by the meter Inspectors and Readers which will be printed later and displayed in the electricity bills of the consumers with objective to address the consumers' complaints.

The Chief Executive Officer of HESCO has assigned the Chief Operating Officer Shahid Hameed Chohan to cover the area of Qasimabad Division, Chief Engineer Tariq Pasha to cover Tando Adam Division, Chief Engineer Saeed Ahmed Dawatch to cover Latifabad Division, Manager Commercial Mehmood Ahmed Qaimkhai to cover Phuleli Division, Project Director Construction Najanuddin Abro to cover Nawabshah and Sanghar Divisions, Superintending Engineer Abdul Sattar Memon to cover Gari Khata Division, Superintendent Engineer Circle-I Hyderabad Malik Imtiaz to cover Tando Allahyar Division, Superintending Engineer Laar Circle to cover Kotri, Thatta, Badin and Tando Muhammad Khan Divisions and Superintending Engineer Mirpurkhas to cover the area of Umerkot Division and ensure 100 percent recovery of outstanding dues from the consumers.

The Chief Executive Officer of HESCO made it clear that no negligence in this direction will be tolerated and strict departmental action will be initiated against defaulting officers.

He asked all officers to immediately disconnect the power connection of those consumers who are reluctant to deposit electricity bills.

After receiving the directives, all officers have started the completion of their assigned task and put 140 Meter Inspectors and 600 Meter Readers on alert to achieve the targets.
