Munter calls on Governor to mutual interest

Matters of mutual interest as well as measures to enhance bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and the United States (US) came under discussion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Punjab Governor said that Pak-US strategic ties were very important which should be further strengthened on the basis of mutual respect between the two countries. Both the strategic partners must respect solidarity of each other, he added.

Khosa said Pakistan was an important ally of US in the war against terror, adding that Pakistan's role in the war against extremist forces has been lauded at the international level.

He said that Pakistan believed that dialogue was the only solution to all the issues.

Khosa stressed the need for promoting mutual trade between Pakistan and US through access to the Pakistani products in the US markets, adding that Pakistan believed in trade rather aid from the world.

Cameron Munter said US accorded great importance to its relations with Pakistan and wished to promote bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

He said US would provide assistance to Pakistan in the development of human resources and capacity building of Pakistani youth.
