Asia-Pacific Crude-Aug Pyrenees, NWS condensate supplies up

SINGAPORE: Asia-Pacific crude market held steady on Monday as more loading programmes emerged.

BHP will market two Pyrenees cargoes loading in August, up from one in the previous month, a trader said.

North West Shelf condensate (NWSC) supplies will also rise by one cargo in August from the previous month, traders said.

Brent's premium to Dubai swaps, or Brent-Dubai Exchange of Futures for Swaps (EFS), edged down 3 cents to $3.68 a barrel for August.

PRICE

Petronas has set the price factor for Malaysian Crude Oil (MCO) for June at $3.30 per barrel, the lowest since November, the company said on Monday.

The June MCO is down $0.70 from the previous month.

REFINERY

Japanese refiner Idemitsu Kosan Co said on Monday it shut the sole 160,000-barrels-per-day crude distillation unit (CDU) at its Hokkaido refinery in northern Japan on Saturday for planned maintenance.

MARKET NEWS

Oil demand is set to surge in the short term as refining capacity hits a record, yet the gains may not hold as a flood of fuel gluts the market, eroding profit margins and eventually forcing refiners to cut runs and crude orders.

China's crude oil runs fell 0.1 percent in May from a year earlier to 44.23 million tonnes, the statistics agency said on Monday.

Saudi Arabia, the world's top crude exporter, will supply full contracted volumes of crude oil to at least two Asian term buyers in July, unchanged from June, industry sources familiar with the matter said.

Taiwan imported 23.90 million barrels of crude in April, down 8.4 percent from a month ago, government data showed on Monday.

Singapore-based commodities trader Noble Group said on Monday it has hired Morgan Stanley and HSBC as advisors on the planned sale of its Noble Americas Energy Solutions (NAES) unit, targeting completion of the deal in the second half of the year.

India's fuel demand rose 6.7 percent in May compared with the same month last year.
