Over 8mn affected by recent monsoon rains in Sindh: Qaim
This he said while talking to media-men after offering fateha at the graves of martyrs of Bhutto family at Ghari Khuda Bhakhsh Bhutto Sunday evening.
He said that with the result more than 80 Lac people were affected and the crops included sugarcane, cotton were badly damaged and the economically the people of costal areas badly suffered.
The CM said that all resources are being utilized for the relief and rehabilitation of the affected people and in the 1st phase of an mount of Rs. 20,000 is being paid to each affected family through Pakistan Card, besides an amount of Rs. four billion was allocated for providing fertilizer and seed for 'Rabi' crop to the affected growers of above mentioned districts.
He said that Asif Ali Zardari, President of Pakistan and Prime Minister of Pakistan Syed Yousif Raza Gilani visited the rain affected areas of the province, and the President has appealed to the international donors to come forward and help the rain affected people.
He said that the World Food Organization is providing food stuff to the flood victims and assistance with the Provincial Government in this regard.
Syed Qaim Ali Shah also said that the World Bank is also helping the flood affectees and the NGOs and the Iranian Government are also helping victims through Red Crescent Society in the province.
He said that all out efforts are being made to import more and more anti mosquitoes nets for flood affected people of the province
He also said that the Kala Bagh Dam will not be constructed at any cost because Sindh Assembly had already passed resolution against the construction of Kala Bagh Dam. The chapter of the dam was closed for good, he added
He also said that the enquiry regarding encroachment was already ordered and the different committees for the removal of encroachment formed. Besides, the Chief Minister Sindh also visited Ambulance service which will provide door to door health facilities to the people.
On the occasion DCO Larkana Abdul Aleem Lashari, briefed the Chief Minister regarding the Health facilities being provided to the people by the District Government.
Later, The Chief Minister Sindh also distributed food among the rain affected people at Government Boys Higher School Ghari Khuda Bakhsh Bhutto.
On the occasion Provincial Ministers Agha Siraj Khan Durani, Muhammad Ayaz Soomro, PPPP Leaders Khair Muhammad Shaikh, Abdul Fattah Bhutto, Aijaz Ali Leghari and a large number of people were present.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah while addressing the open Kutchery at President House Naudero has said that the present government was giving priority to Health and Education sectors
The Chief Minister Sindh directed to EDO Education Larkana that the required teachers may be provided in different schools of Naudero as well as the principals in the Government higher Secondary School and Government Boys Degree College Naudero will be posted in shortest possible time.
He announced said that Police Station will be established in Ghari Khuda Bakhsh Bhutto, the Saido Minnor will be cemented beside the villages and towns will be provided Sui Gas and electricity facilities.
The Chief Minister Sindh handed over the cheque of Rs. two Lac to Mst. Bakhtawar whose son died in heavy rain and a cheque of Rs. one Lac to Mahram Ali Kehar, whose son died in heavy rains in taluka Dokri.
The Chief Minister Sindh received the large number of applications from the people who have come from the far-flung areas of taluka Ratodero.
