ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) Absar Alam on Friday assured that the authority will play its due role in creating awareness among public on heart diseases.

He was talking to a delegation of Pakistan National Heart Association (PNHA) led by its President Maj Gen (R) Masood-ur-Rehman Kiani here at PEMRA headquarters on Friday.

They discussed increasing heart diseases in the country and taking preventive measures and creating public awareness. The meeting was informed that the PNHA has been working for the last 30 years and educating the people on heart diseases and prevention aspects.

The PNHA delegation appealed to PEMRA to support PNHA's cause and bound the TV channels, FM radio stations and cable TV license holders to raise public awareness on heart diseases in their programmes and news to save precious lives.
