Talking to a private news channel, Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association's executive member, Ehsanul Huque said that cotton crop estimated at 2.2 million bales worth Rs77 billion has been washed away in the torrential rain spell that caused devastating floods.

Ehsanul Huque said that the textile mills this year would have to import cotton before time in a bid to meet this shortfall.
